Getting the Most Out of Coaching
So you've made a decision either to invest in your success or, at least for the moment, explore the possibilities that coaching brings in your success. Getting the most out of coaching and maximizing your effectiveness and the efficiency of your sessions, requires a bit of preparation but will reduce coaching cost in time and money in the end. Here are few tips.
Getting Ready for Your Complimentary Session
If you are preparing for the complimentary session or the first session, here are a few steps you can take to get the most bang for the buck (actually there is no buck since this is a complimentary session).- Step 1: Ensure you pick a time and place where you'll be able to talk without distractions
Step 2: Write down a couple of ambitious goals for yourself. To do this you can answer the question: "If you knew you couldn't fail what would your future a year from now look like?" What would you be willing to try?
Step 3: Write down your top three challenges.
Maximizing your Coaching Session Effectiveness
If you've decided to go ahead with coaching and want to maximize your investment in yourself, you have the power to do this by:- Step 1: Take some time aside every week not just for coaching sessions but to achieve your goals and complete the session preparatory work
Step 2: Keep a success journal describing what you've accomplished that is beyond what you could do before.
Step 3:Complete the Prep Sheet and send it to me at least two hours before session. The Prep Sheet ensures that you take some time to think over what you would like us to work on during the session. This will allow us to maximize our time together. As you complete it, try to think about what we should accomplish during the session that will make it feel like a productive one.
Step 4: If something is a problem for you, don't hesitate to tell me. I am trained to deal with many of the same issues you may be facing, in fact, you'll be surprised that many of my clients likely have some of the same issues. If you discuss it with me, we could try to find solutions around it.
Step 5:Consider that most small goals take at least three months to achieve. Your goals are more ambitious so expect that your life won't change overnight. It may take six months or more to get to where you want to go. Remember this: I will be with you every step of the way and You will have something to be proud of when you've finally achieved your lifelong dreams.
Step 6: Remember that the definition of insanity is doing things the same way and expecting different resulst. You have decided to work with a coach because you want different results. Be open to change!
Step 7: Call on time. I have many clients and if you contact me too late, I may not be able to make up the time.
