Info on ADHD and ADHD Coaching
What is coaching?
Coaching is an alliance between a professionally trained coach (that’s me) and a motivated client with goals and dreams (that’s you). We work together to help you achieve your goals and overcome your challenges. You’re familiar with coaches in sports, but there are many different types of coaches. There are also coaches with special training to help clients with unique needs. I always enjoyed helping entrepreneurs, artists and creative people. They are passionate, ambitious and creative (and have a quirky sense of humor!) Many also have a poor sense of time, are disorganized, easily distracted (except when they over-focus on a project!), impulsive and frustrated. They’re frustrated because they are highly intelligent, amazingly capable and yet feel like underachievers.

What is the difference between an ADHD Coach and a General Coach?
An ADHD Coach differs from a general coach in several ways. As your ADHD coach,- I have a clear understanding of ADHD, its characteristics and symptoms, and how it can impact your quality of life differently.
- I am also educated about common challenges often associated with ADHD such as learning differences that also affect your life.
- I use specific tools, systems, models and strategies that are designed to support someone with ADHD.
- I work with you focusing on building your life around your strengths while ensuring that your ADHD challenges are also minimized
- I strongly believe in partnering with other members of your support team (physician, psychologist, and family), with your expressed consent, of course.
- I am one of your strongest advocate and will help you to learn to advocate for yourself.
- You are heard and understood in the context of your ADHD.
- I work with you to help you uncover your strengths and develop them, as would be done in general coaching
- I often use more accountability structures than in general coaching.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy focuses on diagnosing and affecting emotional healing. With Coaching, the focus is on taking action to move you forward in your life to achieve your goals and develop strategies that enable to you to overcome the challenges of every day life (procrastination, time management, organizing, communication skills). Some clients work with a therapist to heal the pains of the past while at the same time, working on the present and future with a coach. How much does coaching cost?
I offer many different coaching packages for my clients based on their needs, their goals, and their means. Pricing also depends on the frequency and length of time of sessions, and can vary from $200 to $500 per month. You may wonder how you can afford this kind of cost. What I have found is that most ADHDers can't afford not to be coached if they are not functioning at their full potential. Many of my clients have noticed improved income that far exceeds the cost of coaching after having overcome many of their challenges of ADHD through coaching. Depending on your goals, the money you spend may be more than repaid when your income begins to improve because you finally get the promotion you've been going for or you've moved your business to a whole new level or when you've learned to free up some time and can now have more balance and less stress and still continue to earn a decent salary.
So you ask "how can I afford it?", I and many of my clients ask "how can you not afford to when you consider the advantages?"
If you cannot afford the cost of one-on-one coaching or if your goals involve overcoming basic challenges of ADHD, Group coaching offers a nice alternative at a much reduced rate.

Can I Coach through Face-to-Face Coaching?
While I almost exclusively coach by telephone, I accept that at the beginning it may seem counterintuitive to coach that way. Many clients ask, "how can I concentrate on the phone?" or tell me, "I hate the phone, I can't see myself coaching by phone".Face-to-face coaching usually takes place at my offices in Saint-Laurent. It can also take place on your premises but please note that my rate is higher in these instances to cover time lost traveling and the cost of travel.
What I have found is that the majority of my clients who begin with face-to-face coaching end up, at some point or another, trying it by phone and end up preferring telephone coaching over face-to-face. They find it convenient but also notice they can pay more attention when they are on the phone.
